Schedule Upgrade Now!
Is your computer or laptop running slow? Does it require a significant amount of time to start up? Are you experiencing lag when running large applications? If you're using more programs or larger files than your computer's RAM, CPU, and HDD can handle, it's no wonder your computer is running slow. Perhaps it's time to consider upgrading your hardware! I provide computer upgrade services for both PCs and Macs. I can help you enhance your computer's performance and speed.
Not all modern laptops can be upgraded. Nowadays, certain laptop manufacturers have started integrating hard drives and memory directly into the motherboard, making them impossible to remove. In such cases, upgrading becomes impossible. If you have any doubts about whether your computer is upgradable or not, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We'll gladly investigate the details of your computer and provide you with the necessary information.
For instance, MacBook Air models from 2018 onwards and MacBook Pro Retina models from 2012 onwards are not upgradable. In these models, both the hard drive and memory are permanently soldered to the motherboard, preventing any removal or upgrade. The only exception is 13" MacBook Pro 2016-2017 model A1708 (Two Thunderbolt) which allows you to remove and replace the SSD. However, Apple Mac Pro and most iMac computers are upgradable. In addition to the hard disk drive, the memory can also be upgraded in these specific models.
When it comes to All-in-One PC computers, they are generally upgradable. Although upgrading the video card may not be possible in most cases, the hard disk drive or memory can be easily replaced with newer models without any issues.
PC towers offer great upgradability, as almost every part can be replaced with newer, more advanced components to boost performance.
Upgrading your laptop or desktop computer can be done in a few different ways. For laptops, you can typically upgrade to a larger and faster storage drive or increase the amount of RAM. Desktop computers offer more options, such as changing and adding the storage drive, upgrading the RAM, switching to a better graphics card, and installing a faster CPU. I am here to assist you in keeping your computer hardware current and selecting the most cost-effective upgrade options on the market.
A computer's hard disk drive, also known as a hard drive or HDD, is an internal component that stores various types of data, including the operating system, applications, and user files. If you're looking to upgrade your computer, the best upgrade you can offer is to replace your current hard drive with a faster model. By switching from a regular spinning SATA drive to a SATA SSD drive, you can significantly increase the read speed from approximately 100MB/second to around 500MB/second. And if you opt for a PCIe NVMe SSD, the read speed can skyrocket to an impressive 7000MB/second, which is a whopping 70 times faster than a regular hard drive. Once we've upgraded the hard drive, you can choose between doing a clean Windows OS installation or transferring all your current data to the new drive using the hard drive cloning service.
If your computer has more RAM, it will hold a larger number of files and programs in RAM, allowing you to run multiple programs simultaneously and enhance their performance. However, if your computer has limited RAM capacity, it will store some files and programs in virtual memory (page file). Your computer will utilize a portion of the hard drive for virtual memory, which is considerably slower than accessing RAM for reading and writing tasks. So, the more RAM you've got, the less your computer will need to use virtual memory, which means it'll run faster.
Upgrading the graphics card in laptops is usually not an option but when it comes to desktop computers, the possibilities for graphics card upgrades are endless! A basic graphics card is sufficient for everyday tasks, but if you're into video editing or gaming, investing in a good graphics card can greatly enhance your experience. The variety of graphics cards available on the market means that the limit is really just your budget. Remember that when you upgrade the graphics card in a desktop computer, you may need to switch to a power supply with higher wattage and the right connector types.
A more powerful CPU (central processing unit) will enhance your system's capability to efficiently manage numerous tasks and resource-intensive applications, whether it's video editing or gaming. It is possible to upgrade the CPU of a desktop computer, but solely with a compatible one that matches your motherboard. Prior to upgrading, it is imperative to refer to the motherboard manual in order to figure out the socket type and the highest supported CPU for that particular motherboard. You may need to upgrade the cooling module if you decide to upgrade the CPU for better cooling efficiency.
When upgrading your graphics card in a desktop computer, it may be necessary to also upgrade the power supply. This is because high-end graphics cards usually require more power, so it's important to ensure that your power supply can provide enough wattage and has the necessary connectors. To determine if an upgrade is needed, make sure to check the power requirements of the new graphics card and compare them with the capabilities of your current power supply.
