I provide a complete computer diagnostic service for both PCs and Macs in Lynnwood near the Alderwood Mall. Regardless of whether you own a laptop or a desktop, I have three levels of diagnostics available: standard, advanced, and specialized for liquid damage or custom-built PCs. I aim to complete standard computer diagnostics very quickly and deliver diagnostic results within the same day, and for more complex diagnostics, by the following day.
If your computer suddenly stops working correctly and the cause of the issue is not obvious, it's important to conduct thorough hardware and software diagnostics to identify the root of the problem. This is especially crucial when dealing with intermittent problems like random BSOD errors or unusual behavior. By running comprehensive diagnostics, you can accurately pinpoint the issue and apply the necessary solution to fix it.
Conducting thorough hardware and software diagnostics can sometimes take a while. It all depends on the nature of the issue you're facing and how easily it can be replicated. In certain situations, when I cannot pinpoint the exact cause of the problem, I have to make an educated guess and apply a fix based on that.
One Laptop Tech provides three levels of computer diagnostic services.
1. Standard diagnostic. This service is suitable for most standard laptop or desktop models.
2. Advanced diagnostic. This service is designed for custom-built desktop computers, high-end gaming laptops, and certain All-in-One computers that require extensive disassembly.
3. Accidental damage diagnostic. This service is specifically for computers that have been exposed to liquid damage, dropped, or even run over.
I will use this diagnostic method for most common laptop and desktop computer models. If your computer is completely unresponsive or you're facing occasional hardware or software problems, it needs to undergo the diagnostic procedure so I can identify the root cause of the issue and provide a repair estimate. Some common problems include: failure to start up, random reboots, screen flickering or disappearing images, internet connection loss, booting to a BSOD error, and similar issues. It's a good idea to make a backup of all your personal files before taking your computer in for service.
Custom-built PCs or gaming laptops often require more time and effort for troubleshooting. These machines are equipped with larger hard drives and a substantial amount of RAM, which necessitates additional testing. Moreover, due to their hardware-packed nature, they demand more disassembly and re-assembly time.
Accidental damage diagnostics can be quite challenging compared to the other types of diagnostics. It usually takes a lot more time as it involves disassembling the entire computer and testing each component individually. Testing the motherboard with a multimeter is often necessary and can be quite time-consuming as well.
